Middle School Program (MSP)

SMP Tunas Unggul uses the National Curriculum and adapts the International curriculum called the Middle School Program (MSP). These two curricula are combined and have been specially created as a typical curriculum program of SMP Tunas Unggul. In practice, this learning curriculum is realized in various forms of interesting activities.

Matrikulasi

At the beginning of learning, all students will carry out matriculation activities. Matriculation itself is a preparation and debriefing activity for students before participating in regular activities at SMP Tunas Unggul. In addition, matriculation is also one of the activities of a series of student orientation periods about school concepts, learning concepts, and school culture.

Interactive Unit (IU)

After matriculation, students will follow an integrated learning program called Interactive Unit (IU). In each semester, each level will have a master theme that accommodates multiple subjects with one common project. The culmination of this program is usually a project presentation or product exhibition. In this program, the school also facilitates students with outings, field trips, and guest teachers.

MSP Personal Project

Then, as a final activity at the end of the level, all Level 9 students will develop a project called the MSP Persona Project. In this program, students are challenged to conduct simple research on a popular topic of interest or create a product which is then presented to the examiner and the whole school community.

SMA Preparation

In addition, to prepare students for high school, SMP Tunas Unggul has also developed a special SMA Preparation program to prepare students physically and mentally for the exam period, including academic preparation, social skills, and advanced school selection strategies.

Literacy Program

In addition to the programs in MSP, there are also other excellent programs created to support the potential of all Tunas Unggul Junior High School students. These programs include the Ruhiyah Program, the Literacy Empowerment Program, and the English Language Program.

Literacy Empowerment Program

The Literacy Empowerment Program. This program is specifically designed to increase students’ interest in reading and writing. In addition, this program is also present as a support for all subjects, especially those based on written text. The reading program is conducted regularly once a week. The students have their own reading targets.

Ruhiyah Program

Next is the ruhiyah program is a special program that focuses on the religious field, related to one of the school’s missions, which is to form a religious generation. In this case, the ruhiyah program focuses on the formation and development of student characteristics, given the diversity of student characteristics based on differences in basic personality, parenting, culture and environment. The program consists of daily, weekly, monthly, semester, and annual programs. As evidence of the synergy between school and parents, the school works together to monitor daily worship (proven by a special ruhiyah book) including fiqh prayer, recitation, tahfiz juz 30 and 29, daily activity agenda, and community service.

In addition to the above programs, there is also a program that focuses on English language skills. Considering that the need to speak English has now become an urgency, SMP Tunas Unggul designed a program as an effort to help improve students’ understanding and skills in English. This program is called English Development Program.

This program is a special program designed to accommodate the needs of students who face certain obstacles when studying. Apart from that, a counseling and personal development program is also prepared, accompanied by a team of experts, to help students discover their potential, develop themselves and solve problems.

What is the policy for using gadget at SMP Tunas Unggul?

SMP Tunas Unggul has quite strict regulations on the use of gadget. In this case, the devices used are laptops and smartphones. Laptops may only be carried and used if they are related to learning activities. Meanwhile, carrying a smartphone must be accompanied by a special permit which is provided by school. During the lesson, the smartphone must be left with the mentor and can be taken after leaving time.

What time does learning at school start and end?

Tunas Unggul is a full day school, from Monday-Friday, which starts its learning activities at 7 a.m and finishes at around 3.30 p.m (after Ashar prayer). On Friday, the lesson ends at 2.30 p.m then continues with extracurricular activities

How many students are in one class?

Each class has a maximum of 25 students.

Does SMP Tunas Unggul provide pick-up and catering services?

Yes, SMP Tunas Unggul provides pick-up and catering services. This service is not mandatory for every student and requires additional charges.

How many types of uniforms are used at SMP Tunas Unggul?

There are 5 uniforms worn by SMP Tunas Unggul students:

1. the blue plaid patterned uniform (Monday and Wednesday),

2. scout uniform (Tuesday),

3. pangsi for men and kebaya for women (Thursday),

4. school batik (Friday), and

5. sports uniform (conditionally according to schedule)

What are the extracurricular activities at SMP Tunas Unggul?

There are more than 10 extracurriculars offered to the students. The available extracurriculars are mainly divided into 4 fields: sports, spirituality (ruhiyah), science and arts.
